The South African U-20 national soccer team is a selection team of South African soccer players. It is subject to the South African Football Association and represents it internationally at the U-20 level , for example in friendly matches against the teams of other national associations or at the U-20 African Championships and U-20 World Championships .

The team has so far participated in two World Cup finals. After she was eliminated in the preliminary round in 1997 , she reached the round of 16 in 2009 , which she lost in extra time against eventual world champions Ghana .

In 1997 she lost to Morocco in the final of the African Championship , and in 2009 she finished fourth.

In 2015 the team won the CIS Cup .
