The 2017 U-20 African Football Championship was the 20th edition of the tournament for junior national football teams (U-20) in Africa organized by the African Football Association (CAF) .

The tournament took place in Zambia from February 26 to March 12, 2017 . The two finalists and the losing semi-finalists qualified for the 2017 U-20 World Cup in South Korea.

The teams first play a preliminary round in two groups of four teams each. In the event of a tie, the direct comparison decides on the placement. The first two in each group qualify for the semi-finals. If there is a tie, extra time and possibly a penalty shoot-out will be played there.
