The U-21 African Football Championship in 1991 was the seventh edition of the tournament for junior football teams (U-21) in Africa, organized by the African Football Association (CAF) . The tournament was held in Egypt from February 22 to March 8, 1991 . The host was the winner . The tournament winner qualified together with the defeated finalist Ivory Coast for the Junior World Cup 1991 in Portugal.

Egypt won the title for the second time since 1981 with goals from Tamer Sakr and Mustafa Sadeq when Mambo Ossou conceded .
World Championship
Egypt and Ivory Coast qualified for the 1991 Junior World Cup in Portugal. There, Egypt was eliminated as third-placed in its preliminary group behind Australia and the Soviet Union . Ivory Coast finished their preliminary group last behind Brazil , Mexico and Sweden .
