The U-20 African Football Championship 2019 (officially TOTAL U-20 Africa Cup of Nations 2019 ) was the 21st edition of the tournament for U20 youth football teams in Africa organized by the African Football Association (CAF) .

The tournament was held in the Republic of Niger from February 2 to 17, 2019 . The two finalists and the losing semi-finalists qualified for the 2019 U20 World Cup in Poland. The Mali team won their first title.

The teams first played a preliminary round in two groups of four teams each. In the event of a tie, the direct comparison decided on the placement. The first two in each group qualified for the final round. If there was a tie, extra time and possibly a penalty shoot-out was played there.
