Edgar Nicaise Constant Salli (born August 17, 1992 in Garoua ) is a Cameroonian football player who plays on the left winger or right winger position. His current club is the Romanian first division team Sepsi OSK Sfântu Gheorghe .

Career

In club football

Salli was under contract with AS Monaco from 2011 and was loaned to RC Lens for the 2013/14 season. For the 2014/15 season he moved to the Portuguese club Académica de Coimbra on loan . After his last loan to FC St. Gallen , he moved to the 2nd Bundesliga for 1. FC Nürnberg in the summer of 2016 . There he has the number 7 on his back. There he scored his first two competitive goals in the 4-5 defeat at VfL Bochum on matchday five . With 1. FC Nürnberg he was runner-up in the 2. Bundesliga in 2018 and was promoted to the Bundesliga . In the 2018/19 Bundesliga season he played no role and only made three short appearances in the end. His expiring contract was not renewed in July 2019. He joined the Romanian first division club Sepsi OSK Sfântu Gheorghe in July 2019.

In the national team

Edgar Salli went through the youth teams of the Cameroonian Football Association. Among other things, he played in the Cameroon U20s and scored three goals in nine games. He is now an important player in his home country's national team. Since his debut, which he made in 2011 in a 1-1 draw against the Equatorial Guinea national team, he has now played 36 games for Cameroon, scoring five goals. He scored his first goal for Cameroon in a friendly against the selection of Moldova on June 7, 2014. In 2017 he became African champion with Cameroon. This represents the greatest success of his career so far. Salli wears the shirt number 11 for the national team .
