The Samger Football Club (often called " The Academy Boys " in the press ) is a football club from Serrekunda - Kanifing in the West African state of Gambia , the largest city in the country. The club plays in the highest league in Gambian football, in the GFA League First Division , and after relegation after the 2006 season to the GFA League Second Division , it rose again for the 2008 season after one year. The 2008 season ended successfully with second place, the championship has never been won.

Samger FC first appeared in the 2004/05 season, when they played in the second division. The club is part of the Cherno Samba Academy , founded in 2003 and named after Cherno Samba , a successful Gambian player in the UK.
