Emmanuel Gómez (born December 20, 1990 in Banjul ) is a Gambian football player .

Career

Gómez was a regular for Samger FC in the GFA League First Division before he was signed by Canadian MLS club Toronto FC together with fellow countryman Amadou Sanyang in March 2009 . The center-back made his MLS debut on June 6, 2009 against Los Angeles Galaxy. In March 2011, he was put on the MLS's waiver list and returned to Samger FC. In March 2014 he tried his luck again on the American continent and completed a trial training with the USL Pro Club Wilmington Hammerheads . After he could not convince in the pre-season of Wilmington, returned to Samger.

International

In 2008 Gómez took part with the Gambian U-20 selection in the qualification for the African Youth Championship 2009 , but failed with his team in the last qualifying round to Ghana. He has also trained with the Gambian national team , but has not yet been nominated for international matches. After playing 9 games for the Gambian U-20s, he made his international debut for Gambia in a friendly against Niger on March 20, 2013. So far he has played in three friendly matches for the Gambian national soccer team .
