Mount Southington Ski Area is a winter sports area in Plantsville , a district of Southington , Connecticut .

description

The ski area is located on Mount Vernon Road in the southwest of Southington, on the Emerald Ridge , a ridge of Southington Mountain , which stretches from northeast to southwest and at this point borders the valley of the Quinnipiac River . The Emerald Ridge rises from 60 m above sea level to 168 m ( ). The lifts run up the mountain in an east-west direction and reach a maximum height of 160 m. There are seven lifts (mainly chair lifts) and fourteen slopes with a total of 20 hectares and the longest slope with 1.3 km. Season is from December to March.
