The Mount Tyndall is a mountain in the west of the Australian state of Tasmania . It is located in the north of the West Coast Range . The surrounding highlands are called the Tyndall Range and are at the northern end of a huge boulder north of Mount Sedgwick . There are also a number of glacial lakes, e.g. B. Lake Westwood and Lake Dora .
The mountain was named after the Irish scientist and climber John Tyndall .
