The Movie Star is a bimonthly magazine about cinema with a specialization in action , horror , science fiction and fantasy films .
The magazine has been published since 1993 . In the third quarter of 2004, 38,221 copies were sold, the printed edition was 64,000 copies. It is published by the MPW publishing house, which according to its own statement was "founded by film fans for film fans".
Since 1995 the sister newspaper TV Serien Highlights has been published by the same publisher as a rule , which from the first edition until 7/1997 still bore the title TeleVision , then until 2010 the title TV Highlights . The DVD Special magazine has also been published monthly since 2002 .
