The Movimento Fascismo e Libertà (German: Movement Fascism and Freedom ), abbreviated MFL , is currently the only declared fascist political movement in Italy . It was founded on July 25, 1991 by Senator Giorgio Pisanò and is vehemently differentiated from the various neo-fascist parties and movements ( Azione Sociale , Forza Nuova, etc.).

Anti-constitutionality

The MFL has been charged several times with re-establishing the banned Partito Nazionale Fascista and relativizing the fascist crimes (mainly through the use of fascist symbols). So far, all proceedings have been dropped and the defendants acquitted of the allegations.

Since 1999 the party has been able to record discrete election results in some local elections and has been able to send a total of seven district administrators to the local level.

For the parliamentary elections in 2006 , the party logo was not approved by the Italian Interior Ministry , whereupon the MFL presented another "self-censored" symbol. However, due to the insufficient number of signatures for admission to the elections, the party was unable to take part.
