Mowag T1
The Mowag T1 was a military vehicle from the Swiss manufacturer Mowag .
History and Development
The T1 4 × 4, designed in 1953, was built in such a way that it could be manufactured in a modular manner, with an open loading bridge, with a radio cabin as a closed box van, etc., as required American automaker used Dodge.
With or without a cable winch, most of the Mowag T1 4 × 4 were built as right-hand drive vehicles; over 1600 vehicles in seven different versions were delivered to the Swiss Army . The Mowag T1 4 × 4 were also delivered as emergency vehicles to fire brigades and the police. The army used the Mowag T1 4 × 4 until 1995, many vehicles are now privately owned. Three vehicles from the military and police are now in the Swiss Military Museum Full .
The Swiss Army received a total of 1668 pieces:
- 755 personnel carriers
- 268 ambulance cars
- 363 command vehicles
- 37 switchboard car
- 3 radio cars
- 2 remote service vehicles
- 240 Mowag tank dummies
