The Moyes Islands are three groups of small islands off the coast of the East Antarctic George V Land . They are 4 km southeast of Cape Pigeon Rocks in Watt Bay .
They were discovered by participants in the Australasian Antarctic Expedition (1911–1914) under the direction of the Australian polar explorer Douglas Mawson . Mawson named it after Morton Henry Moyes (1886–1981), the meteorologist on the expedition.
