The Cape-Pigeon Rocks are twin cliffs off the East Antarctic George V coast . They are 5 km south of Garnet Point on the west side of Watt Bay .
Participants of the Australasian Antarctic Expedition (1911-1914) under the direction of the Australian polar explorer Douglas Mawson discovered and named them. It is named after a breeding colony of Cape petrels located here ( English cape pigeon ). The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names added a hyphen to the name in 1952 to avoid confusion between the actual nature of the geographical object and a cape .
