Willi Lang (table tennis player)

Willi Lang (* before 1922) is a former German table tennis player . He played an international match in the 1930s.

Career

Little is known about Willi Lang. He achieved local successes in Bavaria in the 1930s, initially at the Bavarian youth championships, where he won doubles with F. Göpfert (who was also active in tennis) in 1932. From 1934 to 1937 he was Bavarian champion in both singles and doubles with Plötz. He first played for the club TV 1873 Nürnberg and then moved to TTC Nürnberg-Gebersdorf, where he was still active in the mid-1960s.

Once he was nominated for an international match. Germany lost 5-1 to Yugoslavia, with Willi Lang taking the only victory.

Private

Willi Lang ran a café on Nuremberg's Kaiserstraße. For the footballers of 1. FC Nürnberg he worked as a volunteer cook on trips abroad.
