Muʿaddamiyyat ash-shame ( Arabic معضمية الشام, DMG Muʿaḍḍamīyat aš-Šām , tooالمعضمية / al-Muʿaḍḍamīya ) is a Syrian city in the Rif Dimashq governorate .
The place is located around 10 kilometers southwest of Damascus in the Ghouta region . The neighboring town to the east is Darayya . During the civil war in Syria , the city was the scene of fierce fighting several times. The city has been surrounded by the Syrian armed forces since 2013 . On June 1, 2016, an aid convoy with 26 trucks reached the place.
