Mukataa
As mukataa ( muqata'a /مقاطعه, "Separated"; also dirlik /ديرلك) In the Ottoman Empire, a property was called a property that was made available to a government employee instead of a wage as remuneration for a certain task. The property always remained the property of the state or the sultan .
There were three different types of mukataa, differentiated according to their size, namely Tımar , Zeamat and Has .
In Seljuk times, the name for Mukataa was the Arabic word Ikta .
