Mule is a lean, powerful Open Source Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) and integration platform that enables developers to quickly and easily integrate applications with each other and with the cloud and to apply the SOA principles. The platform is based on Java and can act as an interface to establish interaction from and to other platforms such as .Net. It offers the possibility to work with web services or sockets .

The architecture is scalable and enables old systems with internal company applications to be quickly and seamlessly integrated with one another, with systems from established manufacturers and with or in the cloud, and the SOA principles to be applied. Mule supports all modern transports and protocols.
