The unique system of six (partially preserved) circular chamber tombs is located on the not very high Mull Hill ( Scottish Gaelic Meayll Hill ) in the extreme south of the Isle of Man , near Port Erin , not far from the village of Cregneash.

The place is also called "The Graveyard of Broken Slates", "the Meayll", or "Meayll Circle". The name Meayll Circle led to laypeople viewing the square as a stone circle . However, it is an approximately 20.0 m wide arrangement of megalithic systems (see web link) whose entrances, which meet in the middle of the chambers, point outwards. The individual chambers are arched to match the circular shape of the monument as a whole.

In a way similar to, but not as large and precise built like Mull Hill are the welsh conditioning Cerrig y Gof in Newport Pembrokeshire and Cairn Derry , a chamber grave ( English chambered tomb ) of Bargrennan -type in the county of Dumfries and Galloway in Scotland .
