Multibyte character set
Multibyte Character Set ( MBCS ) describes character encodings in which different numbers of bytes are used depending on the character to be stored .
The main representatives of MBCS are: UTF-8 , UTF-16 , UTF-7 , Shift-JIS , Big5 and GB2312 .
