dbb teacher associations
The teachers' associations in the DBB Beamtenbund and Tarifunion are organized in six professional associations:
- Association of Education and Upbringing (VBE) in Berlin
- Federal Association of Teachers for Vocational Training (BvLB) in Berlin
- German Philologist Association (DPhV) in Berlin
- Association of German secondary school teachers (VDR) in Munich
- University and Science Association (VHW)
- Catholic Educational Community (KEG) in Munich
Together, these teachers' associations are expected to organize more than 400,000 teachers. The associations DPhV, VDR, VLW and BLBS have come together as the German Teachers Association (DL) in the dbb. The office is in Berlin. Due to the merger of the Federal Association of Teachers at Business Schools (VLW) and the Federal Association of Teachers at Vocational Schools (BLBS) to form the Federal Association of Teachers for Vocational Education and Training (BvLB), the number of members of the DL fell to four associations.
At the end of 2006, the teachers 'associations in Saxony merged to form the Saxon Teachers' Association in the VBE . It is based in Radebeul and describes itself as the largest teachers' association in East Germany.
