Multicrypt

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Multicrypt is a decryption method for pay TV and pay radio.

The Multicrypt process enables the simultaneous reception of differently encrypted digital television and radio programs according to the DVB standard in one device. It uses a standardized interface, the so-called common interface , which is available in the common set-top boxes .

In this way, different access authorization systems can be used with PCMCIA modules in a set-top box. For example, the ORF channel can be received and decrypted with cryptoworks in addition to Premiere ( Nagravision ). With other decryption systems like Simulcrypt , two set-top boxes would be required.
