The Muniz M-5 was a sport and liaison aircraft designed by the Brazilian aeronautical engineer Antonio Guedes Muniz and manufactured in France by Caudron .
history
Antonio Guedes Muniz developed several aircraft during his studies at the Ecole Supérieure de Aéronautique in Paris . The Muniz M-5 was the first to be built by Caudron . The aircraft was designed as a touring aircraft and liaison aircraft. Although the aircraft was only built once, it paved the way for further aviation developments in Brazil.
construction
The M-5 was designed as a low-wing aircraft, had a closed tandem cockpit and a non-retractable tail wheel landing gear. The plane was a wooden frame construction. The fuselage was clad with plywood and the wings and the conventional tail unit were covered with fabric. The wings became thinner and thinner towards the wing tips. The aircraft was powered by a water-cooled six-cylinder Hispano 6Pa with 75 kW.
