history

Munschke was created on the old strata antiqua Lusatiae , which crosses the buttermilk water here between Eiserode and Kittlitz.

The southern property was built in 1846. A windmill belonged to it. In 1880 Andreas Nerrettig, a windmill in the "Mónczke", died. Then the windmill was dismantled and sold. Its base was preserved and then served as a cellar. The place name also refers to the mill (Sorb. Młyn ).

The northern property is the former buttermilk forge. It was built according to the inscription in the door frame in 1852 and was licensed .

In the 19th century there was a third homestead with the “Wohlschen Mühlchen” in Munschke. The water mill at Buttermilkwasser burned down before 1900 and was no longer rebuilt.

Munschke was a district of Wohla and was incorporated into Kittlitz on April 1, 1974. On January 1, 2003 Munschke was incorporated into Löbau together with Kittlitz.
