The Kotitzer Water , in Upper Sorbian Kotołka or Kotečanska Woda , is a left tributary of the Löbauer Water in the Upper Lusatian region in Saxony .
course
It rises 360 m above sea level. M. on the eastern slope of the Richtersberg on the eastern Czorneboh massif near Jauernick and is called buttermilk water in its upper reaches . The stream flows east to Nechen , where it crosses under federal highway 6 on the western outskirts .
At Laucha, the buttermilk water bends to the northwest of the federal highway 178 on the Schafberg (321 m). To width village and Kohlwesa the railway line from Löbau leads to Bautzen in the valley along. Here the stream changes its direction to the north and is called Kotitzer Wasser .
The Kotitzer water flows through the hill country around Lauske, where the villages Zschorna and Lauske are located. Here the river forms a so-called Skala , the rock valley of the Lausker Enge was placed under nature protection in 1967 as the " Lausker Skala ". On both sides of the valley there are ancient ramparts, on the right the Zschornaer Schanze and on the left the Lausker Schanze, on which a romantic tower ruin was built in 1807, which served as an observation tower until the Second World War and then fell into disrepair. Further north are Kotitz and Oberkotitz on the small river, which then flows westward into the valley of the Löbauer water , where it feeds the Necherner and Wurschener ponds.
Here the Kotitz water flows south next to the Löbauer water and is connected to it by several ditches (e.g. the Ritschka ). The villages of Nechern, Belgern and Cannewitz are located along the Kotitzer water . Above this village, the valleys of the two rivers separate again and the Kotitzer water crosses the federal highway 4 to the northwest.
The last place on the lower reaches is Gleina . At the Guttauer Auewald, the Kotitzer water flows into the Löbauer water after 25 kilometers, even if the mean flow of the Kotitzer water is greater than that of its main river at this point. One reason for this is that water flows from the Löbauer into the Kotitzer water via the ditches mentioned above.
