Murrinh-Patha

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Murrinh Patha are an Aboriginal tribe living in the Northern Territory of Australia . Before they were settled by the Europeans, their habitat extended from Wadeye to the Fitzmaurice River .

The culture of the Murrinh-Patha is based on a typical social structure of the Aborigines, which is formed by different degrees and relationships between the tribes. Their language is still spoken by around 2500 people (partly as a second language) and is used by other tribes as a key to communication. Since this language has a special meaning, there are numerous studies on this.
