The corrugator supercilii muscle ("frown", literally "wrinkle of the eyebrow") is a skin muscle in the area of the eyebrow ( supercilium ) and belongs to the facial muscles . In humans, it is a small muscle band that is located on the inside of the eyebrow between the frontalis muscle and the orbicularis oculi muscle . The muscle arises at the superciliary arch ( arcus superciliaris ) and attaches to the skin of the forehead near the eyebrow. The muscle pulls the eyebrow downwards and inwards, thus also producing the wrinkles of the forehead.
