The extensor digiti minimi ( Latin for little finger extensor ) or extensor digiti quinti proprius muscle is one of the muscles of the superficial extensor muscles of the back of the forearm . Functionally, it belongs to the extensor digitorum muscle , but since it has its own tendon that runs through the fifth tendon sheath of the extensor retinaculum , it is considered separately.
