The temporoparietalis muscle ("temple parietal muscle ") is a delicate skin muscle of the head and belongs to the muscles of the back of the head ( epicranial muscles ). It arises in the temporal area above the auricularis superior muscle from the fascia of the temporalis muscle and extends upwards towards the vertex, where it is anchored in the scalp ( galea aponeurotica ).
