The Museo Colonial Alemán de Frutillar in Frutillar describes the immigration of migrants from Germany to the Región de los Lagos in Chile and was inaugurated in 1984.

German emigrants settled in the region around Los Lagos from 1848. Today around 200,000 Chileans of German origin still live in the area, which is influenced by German architecture and way of life. The museum is dedicated to the history of German settlements in southern Chile. Various types of houses, a working water mill, a forge and a small chapel are shown on three hectares.
