history

The museum association of the city of Vils - founded in 1987 by Reinhold Schrettl and colleagues - set up a room as a museum for the first time in 1993 in the “Schlössle”. The "Schlössle" at the southern end of the Stadtgasse was connected to the upper gate of the city wall and served as an office building. The museum association of the city of Vils has been called VilsArt cultural association since 2014.
