The Museum of Railway Technology Novosibirsk ( Russian: Новосибирский музей железнодорожной техники, Novosibirski musei schelesnodoroschnoi techniki ) is a railway museum in Novosibirsk . It opened in 2000 near the Sejatel Railway Station (станцией Сеятель), 35 Rasesnaya Street (Разъездная ул. 35) on the Novosibirsk – Berdsk railway line and is Russia's second largest transport museum after the Central Railway Museum in St. Petersburg .

The foundation goes back to Nikolai Akulinin . He worked on the North Caucasus Railway from 1946 to 1955 and since 1955 with various railways in Siberia . In 1984 he retired and began work on the start of the Railway Technology Museum in Novosibirsk. It took years to collect the relevant exhibits on the circular experimental route of the All-Russian Rail Research Institute , and it was not until 1998 that the West Siberian Railway Authority approved the construction of a museum. Work continued until 2000 and the museum officially opened on August 4th during the Railway Day celebrations. Contrary to Nikolai Akulinina's request, the management of the West Siberian Railway decided to give the museum its name. He was also its first director.

The museum presents seventeen steam locomotives, fifteen diesel locomotives, twelve electric locomotives, railroad cars and railway equipment from the 19th and 20th centuries, mainly Russian and Soviet production, in the open air. Locomotives from the USA, Czechoslovakia and Hungary are also on display. In addition, the Novosibirsk Museum has a collection of cars, mostly from the Soviet Union. Since 2006, the museum has also been exhibiting foreign-made vintage cars. There is also a copy of the Soviet T-34 tank.

According to the staff, it is unique in that it does not focus on one area of rail transport, but rather presents many aspects - from locomotives of different ages and countries to wagons, railway equipment and automobile shows. The Museum of Railway Technology in Novosibirsk is also involved in educational activities. It organizes workshops and conferences dealing with issues related to the widespread railway.
