Museum of Malawi
The Museum of Malawi (English Museum of Malawi , also Chichiri Museum ) in the city of Blantyre is the national museum of culture and natural history of Malawi . It was founded in 1957.
The permanent exhibition shows important stages in the cultural and historical development of the country from prehistory to Malawi's independence . It also has an important collection of insects and geological samples, including the Machinga meteorite from 1981. In the outdoor area of the museum, large exhibits document, among other things, the development of the country's transport infrastructure .
The museum offers mobile museum educational programs that are also intended to reach schoolchildren in rural areas.
