The Coors 420 was a race in the NASCAR Winston Cup that was held at Nashville Speedway USA . It was first held in 1959 under the name "Music City 200". However , only twelve drivers started in this race, which was won by Rex White , which was the negative record of the season. It did not take place again until 1964 and was called Music City 200 again. But again the number of participants was too small, only 16 drivers started. In 1965 there were only 15, so it didn't take place for the time being.

From the 1973 season it was back on the racing calendar under the name "Music City 420". It was held annually from 1973 to 1984. In 1979 the race with Sun-Drop had a sponsor for the first time. After disputes about the managerial question of the Speedway in 1985, NASCAR decided to stop racing at the Nashville Speedway USA from the 1985 season.
