Musik Produktiv , based in the Ibbenbüren district of Laggenbeck, is a German mail order company and retail store for all kinds of music equipment. The retail store with a sales area of around 3000 m² is one of the largest department stores for musical instruments , music , sound reinforcement and studio technology in Europe.
General
The internationally operating company was founded in 1974 by Günter Zierenberg in Ibbenbüren . In the following four decades, Musik Produktiv experienced three moves and countless additions and renovations.
The company currently employs around 70 people. With the "Handbook for Musicians", Musik Produktiv published what it claims to be the world's largest information and mail order catalog for musical instruments up to and including 2012. In addition to selling and shipping musical instruments, Musik Produktiv also repairs guitars, electronic musical equipment and wind instruments.
In addition, Musik Produktiv acts as an organizer and sponsor at a large number of events. In addition to concerts, workshops and seminars for musicians, technicians and music teachers, Europe's largest flea market for used musical instruments is held twice a year, in May and October. The musician flea market offers space for over 300 stalls for used instruments and the opportunity to buy and sell for private individuals (dealers are not permitted).
The now well-established Musik Produktiv fair is the largest music fair in northern Germany. It is a meeting point for manufacturers, musicians and those interested in music from Germany and neighboring countries.
