Music Prize of the State of Saxony-Anhalt
Since 2015, the Ministry of Culture of the State of Saxony-Anhalt has been awarding the Music Prize of the State of Saxony-Anhalt , from 2016 every two years. The prize, which is endowed with 10,000 euros, is aimed at artists from the fields of music creation and interpretation who can prove a recognized life's work or who can expect a further development to high artistic achievements through their previous work and thus make an important contribution to the development of music in Saxony-Anhalt .
With the creation of this award, the country followed a recommendation of the Cultural Convention.
Suggestions for possible award winners can be submitted by music associations and music institutions of the state of Saxony-Anhalt, but also by citizens. Individual artists or music ensembles who are particularly connected to the state of Saxony-Anhalt can be suggested.
