Music therapy review

The Musiktherapeutische Umschau is a music therapy magazine published by the German Music Therapy Society (DMtG).

The journal, first published in 1980, reports on basic research, discusses training issues and uses case studies to document the possibilities and problems of the everyday professional life of music therapists. The current part contains interdisciplinary reports, event information and reviews of new publications relevant to the subject.

Johannes Th. Eschen sponsorship award

Since 2000, the editors of the Musiktherapeutische Umschau, in collaboration with the German Society for Music Therapy, now the German Music Therapy Society, have been awarding the Johannes Th. Eschen Prize every two years . It is named after the German music therapist Johannes Th. Eschen who died in 2013 . The prize aims to support young music therapy authors and draw attention to their work. The prize is awarded to one to three people. The previous winners were:

Media-based certified training

Since 2013, the Musiktherapeutische Umschau has been offering CME articles on a regular basis , through which advanced training points can be acquired from the Lower Saxony Chamber of Psychotherapists . Corresponding online questionnaires on the content of these articles are available for this purpose.
