Sample roll

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The pattern roll is in the commercial shipping an official list of all current members of the crew of a ship.

In Germany, the ship's articles are based on the Ship Occupation Ordinance (SchBesV), which stipulates how many officers and crew members with what qualifications must be sampled for a specific ship, i.e. must be obliged to be members of the crew. For each crew member the following must be entered: name, address, nationality, place and date of birth, certificate of competency, seafaring book and hiring license number, date of sampling, date of sampling . The crew member signs the sample roll.

When the sample roll is issued, it must be submitted to the seaman's office

  1. proof of the right for the ship to fly the federal flag ( ship certificate ),
  2. the ship's measurement certificate or an equivalent document (see ship register regulations),
  3. the ship's travel permit issued by BG Verkehr ( professional association for transport and traffic management ).

Changes to the pattern roll may also only be made by the seaman's office, and abroad by the consulate. In addition to the above documents, the seafaring book of the crew member concerned must be presented.
