Courage

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Mutsühne (from ahd. Suona = court, judgment, court hearing, conclusion of peace) is a term in the older German legal language.

Mutsühne refers to the amicable agreement that has come about through free will in a legal dispute and thus stands in contrast to an agreement ( judgment ) ordered by the authorities . However, the term can also designate the atonement ( wergeld ) to be made when a person is killed, which his clan is entitled to and finally the courage atonement can also be an atonement to be paid to the authorities .
