Redemptoris Mater

Redemptoris mater ("Mother of the Savior") is an honorary title of the Virgin Mary . The Marian antiphon Alma redemptoris mater (“exalted mother of the Savior”) is sung in the Liturgy of the Hours of Advent .

In 1987 Pope John Paul II wrote the encyclical Redemptoris mater on the Blessed Virgin Mary in the life of the pilgrim church. All seminaries of the Neocatechumenal Way are subordinate to the patronage of the Redemptoris mater .
