My Free Farm is an economic simulation of a farm in the form of a browser game by the German game developer Upjers .

The game is about running a farm on which various buildings can be erected. At first you only have a field on which you can grow plants. In the course of the game you can build gates and buildings for keeping animals as well as processing plants on building sites that use up arable land.
The focus of the game is on trading in his products via an invisible marketplace at fixed prices or with computer-controlled customers who have to be attracted by ornamental objects or ornamental plants. In the course of the game, the player can work his way up through levels , reaching the use of further game functions is connected. The experience points required for these levels are obtained by harvesting and caring for plants or ornamental plants, by collecting animal products and products from the processing plants, trading with customers, but also by solving special tasks.
Game principle and technology
Like other common browser games, My Free Farm can in principle also be played without spending money, but the scope is then clearly limited. However, it is possible to purchase virtual coins, so-called coins, with real money. With these coins, a normal account can be upgraded to a so-called premium account , which offers the player certain advantages. These coins can also be bought on the in-game marketplace with the in-game currency "Potato Thaler". Thus, the player can also use the advantages of a premium account without having to invest real money.
Production notes
The game started as a beta version at the end of August 2009. The official start, in which all accounts created in the beta phase were deleted, took place on October 12, 2009; three weeks later the game already had over 300,000 players. The game currently has around 10.7 million players across all national versions. There were only two servers in the beta version of the game. The German version of My Free Farm currently has 25 servers (as of January 4, 2015).
