Mystik was an American power and speed metal band from Cleveland , Ohio that was formed in 1988 and split up around 1994.

history

The band was founded in 1988 by guitarist Roy Gursten. After a demo in 1990, another demo followed, The Plot Sickens , on which the band insisted next to Gursten from the singer Patrick Hughes, the guitarist Ed Miller, the bassist Joe Kilcoyne and the drummer Ken Easterly. Through the demo, the band reached a contract with Massacre Records , which released their debut album in 1992, which was also called The Plot Sickens . The album was recorded in a southern German studio. The release was followed by a tour of Germany in support of Paul Di'Anno's band Killers . In the spring of 1994 the second album Perpetual Being followed . The band has now broken up.

style

The band played a mixture of speed and power metal on their debut The Plot Sickens , with the songs also interspersed with slower passages. They bring back memories of Flotsam and Jetsam . On the second album Perpetual Being, the band slowed down significantly. Particularly characteristic of the band's style are the distinctive vocals, the guitar riffs and the variable speed of the songs.
