The Nahrenbach rises at the foot of the Süntel , near Bensen , and is fed by several streams. It flows through Höfingen , then passes the Nahrenbach flood basin , crosses Fischbeck and flows southwest of it into the Weser . The dam of the flood basin broke after a storm on July 19, 1966 and ensured that the center of Fischbeck was flooded by a four meter high tidal wave.
