Närkholm (also Närsholmen ) is an uninhabited peninsula in the east of the Swedish island of Gotland . It is about four kilometers from the nearest, larger settlement, När .

nature

Närsholmen has a savanna-like vegetation and a variety of birds, including many nuns goose , redshank , guillemots and lapwings on. For this reason, access is restricted from March 15th to July 15th. The area is classified as a Natura 2000 area and covers an area of 4.15 km².

När lighthouse

On the peninsula is the 16.30 m high lighthouse När , which was built in 1872 and has been operated automatically since 1961, as well as the associated maintenance and farm buildings.
