Cisco Video Cape (formerly 'NDS Group') is a company to Cisco Systems owned and Digital Rights Management and Conditional Access distributes systems developed. In addition to CAS, NDS now covers all areas of digital TV solutions. These include in particular the Middleware MediaHighway, the IPTV solution Synamedia as well as interactive TV applications and mobile solutions.

It is based in Staines in the United Kingdom , and there is also an important research facility ( NDS Technologies Israel or NDS Tech for short ) in Jerusalem , Israel , which specializes in hardware and software for smart cards . Further development sites are in particular in Staines, UK and in Paris, France as the center of activities in the middleware area.

history

The company was founded in 1989 as News Datacom ( NDC ), later renamed News Digital Systems ( NDS ); Originally, CA systems were developed for sister company British Sky Broadcasting , which were later also sold to other providers.
