Block diagram of the NE612

The NE612 is an integrated circuit from Philips Semiconductors , which comprises an oscillator and a so-called Gilbert cell as a mixer .

The module is used, among other things, in amateur radio equipment , especially in self-construction. It requires only a few external components and covers the usual amateur radio bands up to around 500 MHz.

It is used, for example, in the Softrock SDR kit, various commercial Elecraft kits, the SW + or the Weber Tribander.

The NE612 family of modules includes the NE602, SA602, NE612 and SA612. All have the same electrical data and only differ in the temperature range. In the meantime, the component is not only available in a DIL housing , but also in an SO housing .
