Network for the Promotion of Asian Cinema
Network for the Promotion of Asian Cinema (NETPAC) is an international non-profit organization that was founded in 1990 on an initiative of the Asian film magazine Cinemaya and UNESCO . NETPAC is headquartered in Singapore . There are centers in 14 Asian countries and five in Europe, USA and Australia. The organization's president is Aruna Vasudev , editor of Cinemaya magazine , which is also the official mouthpiece of NETPAC. Members include film critics, filmmakers, festival organizers and curators, film distributors and film professors.
NETPAC has set itself the goal of promoting Asian films internationally. For this purpose, an independent jury made up of NETPAC members awards NETPAC prizes at various film festivals. Annual ceremonies are held, among others, the following film festivals: Berlin International Film Festival , Cannes Film Festival , Venice Film Festival , International Film Festival Rotterdam , Busan International Film Festival , Festival international du film asiatique de Vesoul , Singapore International Film Festival , Golden Horse Film Festival (Taiwan), Yamagata International Documentary Film Festival , Festival of Amiens and Hawaii International Film Festival .
