The Norwegian steam locomotive series NHJ C (1923) was built in 1917 as a one-off by Baldwin Locomotive Works in Eddystone (Pennsylvania) , United States , with the serial number 45956 for the Norsk Hoved-Jernbane (NHJ).
history
The locomotive ordered on November 29, 1916 was initially only given the serial number 99 after delivery in July 1917. It was not until the new series plan of the NHJ introduced in 1923 that it was classified as the C series as a second occupation of this series.
Used by Norges Statsbaner
When NHJ was taken over on March 4, 1926 as the Oslo district in Norges Statsbaner (NSB), the state railway company in Norway, the series was given the new designation NSB 48a . It was first used in the Oslo district , and from November 1, 1940, the locomotive was assigned to the Narvik district. In 1946 the 48a 99 was moved back to the Oslo region, probably parked in 1951 and finally decommissioned and scrapped on February 16, 1953.
