The Norwegian steam locomotive series NHJ H (1910) was built in 1910/1912 by Borsig in Berlin with the serial numbers 4700, 4701 and 8374 for the Norsk Hoved-Jernbane .

history

The model for the design was the NSB Type 19a , which Norges Statsbaner (NSB) had procured for Ofotbanen between 1900 and 1910 . The first two locomotives, albeit in a superheated steam version, were ordered in July 1909, delivered in the second half of 1910 and commissioned in 1911. On January 13, 1912, after the experience with the first two locomotives, a third machine was ordered, which was delivered in June 1912 and put into operation immediately.

NHJ B "

In 1923 the series at NHJ was reorganized. Since all locomotives of the first NHJ B series had meanwhile been decommissioned, this series was newly manned and all locomotives of the NHJ H series (1910) were renamed NHJ B " . The series designation was not written.

Used by Norges Statsbaner

When NSB took over NHJ in 1926, the series was given the new designation NSB Type 47a . They were first used in the Oslo district , from the mid-1950s they were assigned to the Drammen district. There they were only in use for a few years. As the last locomotive in the series, the 47a 97 was taken out of service on February 28, 1958 and scrapped.
