The Nigerian Communication Satellite Limited (NigComSat) is a company that the Nigerian Ministry of Science and Technology is under. The law establishing NIGCOMSAT has not yet entered into force, so the company is currently in a legally unclear status. With the space agency NASRDA there are overlaps in terms of tasks and competencies. NASRDA sees NIGCOMSAT as a subsidiary, while NIGCOMSAT sees itself directly subordinate to the Ministry.

The business purpose is the operation of Nigerian satellites. Among other things, NigComSat-1 was operated by this company. This communications satellite was launched in May 2007, but had to be taken out of service in November 2008 after a defect.

Ahmed Rufai is the managing director .
